In this video I review the application myPhoneDesktop. myPhoneDesktop allows you to push across several different types of data from your computer (Windows, Mac and Linux) to your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. Using the app you can send over a URL (for example a Google Map as well as basically any link), normal text such as a Word document, an image and even a phone number or SMS. myPhoneDesktop costs $1.99 in the App Store, but is it worth it? Be sure to watch my full review below.

WOW, duncan33303, great find. This is so f..ing useful! There a couple things I discovered that you did not cover in your review, so hopefully other will find my finding as useful as I am. Here we go:
- works not only via WiFi but also cell connection (3G or otherwise)
- Has global shortcuts like Command+C+C (I am on Mac) or Crtl+C+C f you on windows. This shortcuts (and you can customize them) are a life savior! no kidding! I just select url, text, image, what ever, press Cmd+C+C and BOOM (Jobs favorite phrase) – it is on my device! Sweeeeeet.
- ability to send to Google map not only single point locations but complete from/to direction.
- Integration with third party apps: Address Book, Outlook, LaunchBar, etc… + if you on Mac – you can script myPhoneDesktop and integrate it with app of your choice.
- bookmarklet – another sweet one. select what you want on web, click bookmarklet and another BOOM – its on your device.
- This is not available but as per developer (hope he will be ok for me to share this) in upcoming version: more integration is coming with apps like Instapaper, Thunderbird AB, Map with Google, etc… and developer said that work is being done for pushing more file formats (docs, music, videos) and also push from device back to your desktop (this one will be much useful to me).
- Oh, and one more, which I think is SO IMPORTANT for any app: AN OUTSTANDING support. Guys were answering my questions, etc within minutes or hours. This is unprecedented based on my experience.
Ones more, duncan33303 – great find and great review. Hope you will do more videos on myPhoneDesktop features like 1 detailed video per feature. I did not see any developer made videos so maybe you can contact them and offer your services. This would be cool.
Thanks for the comment, I didn’t know there were so many additional features haha.
